If your kids are anything like mine, they love “helping” you with all your construction projects and are constantly trying to fit all their tools in their pockets! Make their job easier and more fun by giving them their own tool belt. And all it takes is an old pair of jeans.

Recommended Age: 3 to 8 years

If your kids are anything like mine, they love “helping” you with all your construction projects and are constantly trying to fit all their tools in their pockets! Make their job easier and more fun by giving them their own tool belt. And all it takes is an old pair of jeans.

What you need:

  • Old pair of kids Carpenter jeans
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue (Optional)
  • “Kid Approved” tools
DIY Kid’s Construction Tool Belt

Step 1

Cut the legs of the pants off below any of the cool pockets and/or tool loops.

Step 2

Cut along the outside seam of the legs just until you get to the waistband.

Step 3

Cut along the waistband being careful not to cut through any of the belt loops

Step 4

Use fabric glue to seal the two pants legs together. You could also sew them, or skip this part altogether.

Step 5

If your child hasn’t outgrown the waistband, you can use the snaps to hold it in place. Otherwise, take a belt and belt it around your child
