Paint wrapping paper tube and paper plates and allow to dry. Once dry add designs or embellishments using a second paint color.
Wrap toilet paper roll in duck tape. To secure the toilet paper roll to the wrapping tube: Use scissors (or knife) to make 1 small slit parallel to the edge of the toilet roll (.75” from the edge), about 1/2″ to 1” long. Make a second slit the same size as the first approximately .25″ away from the first slit. Using a piece of tape about 6” long, fold it over itself the long way so it’s just wide enough to fit through the slits. Slide the tape into the 1st slit and directly back down into the second slit. Pull the tape in the back of the tube so it is slightly longer than that of the one in the first slit.
The tape hanging from the toilet roll will be secured to the wrapping tube with duct tape.
One should be taped on the inside and one on the outside of the wrapping tube.
Use a pencil to trace the diameter of the end of the tube onto one paper plate.
Cut out the circle. Insert the end of the tube through the hole in the plate. Tape the tube and plate together both on the top of the plate and on the bottom. You may want to use all three plates to create a sturdier base.
