Pizza’s always better when you make it at home!

Level Of Difficulty: EasyMediumDifficult

Time To Prepare: Under 1 Hour

Time Until Ready: Under 1 Hour

Recommended Age: 3 to 8 years

Pizza’s always better when you make it at home!

What you need:

  • Pizza crust
  • Pizza pan
  • Olive Oil
  • Sauce (or try a simple olive oil & salt combo for picky kids)
  • Cheese

Prep Work

First, decide what kind of pizza crust you’ll use. You have choices here and you might want to decide based upon the skill level of your child. You can buy a pre-made crust, buy the dough from your deli or pizza parlor, or make your own! I typically opt for buying the dough. It gives all the fun without all the work.

Second, chop up any toppings that need a sharp knife.

Step 1

If you’re using anything other than a pre-made crust, knead it and roll it out. Your child will need your help with this step. It’s not easy!

Step 2

Brush on a thin layer of olive oil.

Step 3

Ladle on the sauce and smooth it over your crust. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Step 4

Sprinkle on the cheese! This is my kid’s favorite part because she gets to sneak a little cheese snack.

Step 5

Add any other toppings you’d like. Consider breaking the pizza into quarters so you end up with 4 different options to try.

Step 6

Bake at 425 degrees for about 12 minutes for a 12” pie.

Step 7

Enjoy a fantastic homemade pizza lunch!
