Out on the range, the only way to get around is on horse back. Whether driving cattle or chasing bad guys, a good horse is a cowpoke’s best friend. Transform old socks into the perfect sidekick. Giddy up partner!

Step 1

Stuff the sock with plastic bags. I stuffed mine until the sock was completely filled out.

Step 2

For the mane, use 24 inches of yarn. Cut two small slits into the sock, right before the heel starts, then feed the yarn through the holes (12 inches on each side) and tie them together.

Step 3

Cut two triangles out of the felt. (I just cut the corners off my square piece of felt.) Pin them to the sock, one on each side of the knot made from the mane.

Step 4

Hot glue the wiggle eyes and the bridle (made of ribbon) to the sock. I tied a shoe lace to the bridle for the reins.

Step 5

Wrap the end of your stick in extra plastic bags and then insert into the sock. Tie the bottom of the sock closed.
