Firefighter Safety Training: Activity

Here is a fun scenario to act out with your "Fire Crew". Tell them that today we are going to learn fire safety. Show them how to "Stop, Drop, and Roll" and then choose someone to play the firefighter (who teaches the others Stop Drop and Roll) and another to be the "victim". We took turns being "firefighter and victim".

Level Of Difficulty: EasyMediumDifficult

Recommended Age: 3 to 8 years

We made a sign each for the "stop" the "drop" and the "roll". The Firefighter held up the sign as the victim (wearing flames that we colored) acted out each portion of the scenario.

Here are a few important things to talk about when teaching your kids "Stop, drop and roll"

  • "Stop, drop, and roll" is used when clothing catches on fire.
  • Stop where you are.
  • Drop to the ground and cover your eyes and mouth with your hands.
  • Roll back and forth until the flames are out.
  • Get help from a grown-up.
