“A big scary dragon is crouching behind the castle wall!” yells the Princess. Help make this pretend play moment come to life with this quick dragon mask.

What you will need:

  • Green felt
  • White felt
  • Red felt (optional)
  • Pencil or maker
  • Elastic band
  • Card stock
  • Glue or hot glue gun
  • Dragon mask printable template: Download PDF

Step 1

Print template. Trace onto felt. Cut out x 2.

Step 2

Draw teeth onto white felt, cut out. (I made mine wide enough to glue it to the back of the green felt.)

Step 3

Draw eyebrows and forehead onto card stock. Cut out.

Step 4

Glue teeth, forehead, and eyebrow to one side of one of the green felt. (The second piece of green felt will eventually be glued to this piece. The teeth, forehead and elastic band will be between the two pieces of green felt.)

Step 5

Measure the elastic to fit around your child’s head. Cut to measured size. Glue elastic to the green felt.

Step 6

Place second piece of felt over the first. Glue in place.
Tip: Red felt can be cut and applied to the mask to make your dragon breathe fire. I like to “sandwich” all of the added dragon decorations in between the 2 pieces of mask felt. This makes the mask is more comfortable to wear and more durable.

Step 7

Allow to dry.
